Rockcorry Bowls Club

Yesterday evening (Thursday 10th February) I was invited up to St. Mary’s Hall for the final of the Rockcorry Bowls club. When I arrived Hughie Carroll and Tony Hannawin were battling it out to see who would meet Tom Daly in the final.  After a fascinating contest Hughie Carroll progressed and played Tom Daly in another intriguing game where the lead exchanged a couple of times but in the end the experience of Tom Daly prevailed and he claimed the title and the lovely crystal ball which was presented by Pat Brannigan.

I have to confess this was my first time watching the sport  and throughly enjoyed the evening and craic with the members. So why not take up bowling? Don’t run away with the idea thats its only for older people, its for all ages both young and old. Try it out – give it a go, the members would welcome all new players so you can quickly start playing and enjoying the game. If you are interested they meet every Thursday night at 8pm  in St. Mary’s Hall so go along and give it a go.

Tom Daly receives the lovely piece of crystal from Pat Brannigan.
