Our under 16 footballers had home advantage when they faced a strong Aghabog/Currin amalgamated team in the Gerry’s Prepared Veg Championship on Sunday 30th June. The game was played in wet, slippery conditions and a strong wind blew directly down the pitch and Aghabog/Currin played with the elements during the first half and pulled no punches as they dominated in all positions and notched up some impressive scores to lead by 6-10 to 0-1 at the half-way stage.
When the game resumed the lads displayed tremendous courage, added resilience and more than matched their opponents playing some good football and showed signs of what they are truly capable off with some excellent scores. However, despite playing well during the second period, the Aghabog/Currin outfit were by far the better side and ultimately they romped to a comfortable victory on a score-line Rockcorry 2-8 Aghabog/Currin 8-14.
