Minors march on as they seal final spot

Our minor team, Rock Sarsfields, secured a place in the final of the GRM minor football league division 2 competition following a courageous 1-13 to 1-5 victory over Magheracloone.

On a cold and wet evening we played with the elements in the first half and dominated for large periods and enjoyed a healthy 0-10 to 0-2 advantage at the break.  On the restart, Magheracloone came storming back, as you would expect, and managed to close the gap back to four points. However, in what can only be described as a remarkable gutsy performance the lads dug deep and moved up a gear as they tagged on a further 1-3 to secure the win. The prize for our victory is a clash against either Latton or Killanny and will certainly be a very exciting and entertaining contest.
