Monaghan with heads back up again as look forward to Donegal

So the trip to the west seen it been a long disappointing journey home with no league points in the bag after a 4 point defeat to Galway for Monaghan in Division 1 of the league.

No doubt the management and team will have that result put behind them as they turn their attentions to Donegal who will be the visitors to St Tiernachs park Clones on Sunday at 2pm.

A win for the home side will guarantee top tier football for 2019 with one game remaining and also allow for the possibility of reaching a league final should Dublin go down to Galway.

With the league now reaching the concluding stages, no doubt the attention will now be turning to the championship so performance will be the key over the next 2 weekends.

In hurling, Monaghan wrapped up their Division 3A league campaign with a draw against Louth last Sunday in Castleblayney
