Our juvenile presentation night was held in St. Mary’s Hall on Monday 18th February and it was yet another wonderful occasion. All silverware won last year was on display including the Mick Duffy Cup that Ballybay GAA won and the most prestigious piece of silverware within our games the Sam Maguire Cup. Both our club chairman, Jimmy McGeough and our youth officer, Pascal Smyth, addressed the huge crowd and complimented all players who represented the club last year and congratulated those who were lucky enough to win trophies. They emphasised the importance of fun and enjoyment of playing the game and reiterated the important role of parents and thanked them for their continued support and encouragement. They highlighted that 2012 was a remarkable year for the club and our juvenile teams and paid tribute to the coaches and team mentors who put in a great effort and time throughout the year and without their dedication we would not be able to provide games for the kids. Special guest on the night was Ballybay & County Monaghan star Paul Finlay who presented medals to the victorious under 12 and under 14 players and on behalf of the club many thanks to Paul who posed for photographs with the kids and their families. Lots of photographs were taken so please log onto www.rockcorrygaa.ie to view a selection. Finally, I would like to say a massive well done to all the kids and we hope you continue to work hard and enjoy your time playing with the club during the year ahead.
