Once again this year the fashion police were out on duty checking out all the latest golf styles and there was strong competition among the ladies and after much deliberation the judges awarded the coveted prize to Martina McKeown, Ann Lynch, Kathleen Daly and Noeleen Fitzpatrick who all displayed golfing divine! No golf classic would be complete without a worst dressed category and I don’t want to sound unpleasant but clearly there was only one outstanding candidate namely Martin Carroll who displayed a wacky tracksuit arrangement that you wouldn’t see John Daly wear… let’s try harder next year! Regarding the golfers who lost the most golf balls I believe this was a very close contest between last year’s winner Colin Quinn and new entrant Andrew Carroll.

The feedback from the teams and golfers was very positive and everyone enjoyed the day immensely and once again on behalf of the club I would like to take this opportunity to thank our main sponsors Mullinahinch House Private Nursing Home, all the companies and individuals who sponsored greens and tee boxes and all the teams who participated on the day and for making the event such a wonderful occasion.

Finally, many thanks to the Clones Golf Club for the use of their fine facilities and assistance on the day and a massive well done to our golf committee for their dedication in planning this event. They were the driving force behind this golf classic and we look forward to seeing you all swing again in next year’s event.
