Coach Development Programme 2013

Please find below a list of Club Development initiatives which the Coaching & Games Development Committee are planning to run over 2013. The Committee, hope to stagger these initiatives over an extended period of time as shown below in order to maximise the impact and attendance in each programme.The purpose of these initiatives is to improve coaching standards within our clubs and also to assist our volunteers who work tirelessly to promote our Games.

U6/ U8

These workshops is for parents & coaches working with players in the U6 and U8 age group. The workshops are practical based and participants will be asked to participate in the workshop. Below is the content that we will be delivering in this workshops.

  • Fundamental Movement Skills & Basic Skill Development – “What to Coach”
  • Types of games to play.
  • Theortical aspects of “How” to Coach.

To be delivered during March & April and by Ulster Council DENI Coaches.This workshops will be delivered on a regional basis(North & South) and a total of 2 workshops to be held in each region. Each workshop to last 2 hours.

 U10/12

U14 – U16

Our main focus for 2013 will be U14 & U16 age groups. With this age group we hope to undertake 3 practical sessions which will focus on a specific area outlined below. These 3 practical sessions will be delivered in 5 regions throughout the county; The regions are, Carrickmacross, Castleblayney, Ballybay, Monaghan Harps and Clones. Each one of these clubs will host the 3 sessions in their club and clubs from the surrounding areas will be asked to travel to the nearest host centre. PLEASE SEE TABLE BELOW WHICH OUTLINES EACH REGION & WHERE CLUBS ARE ASKED TO TARVEL TO.
