Annual General Meeting

The date for our annual general meeting has been fixed for Thursday 28th November. The annual general meeting is the most important meeting of the year and ALL club members are invited to attend in order to reflect on the last twelve months and to look ahead for the upcoming year. It is also a time to elect a new management committee and to communicate with other members about how the club is functioning. Nomination forms will be circulated to all club members over the coming weeks and should be returned to club secretary Martina McKeown before the required date.

Annual Yearbook – ‘Our Journey’

It is hard to believe that another season has drawn to a close after an exciting and extremely busy year and what a year it has been with a lot happening both on and off the field. The deeds of all our teams, from nursery level right up to senior level have provided us with wonderful memories. I have always maintained that memories are priceless treasurers that we should  cherish forever in our hearts and minds and I hope the selection of images that I have put together for this year’s annual yearbook entitled ‘Our Journey’ will leave a lasting impression on you. It will be officially launched at our Annual General Meeting on Thursday 28th November and is loaded with information and features 400 pages, full colour, including action shots, team photographs from our underage teams right up to senior level, match reports and other interesting articles on various events.

Attention all senior and reserve players. Since 1st January 2013, it has been mandatory for all players in age grades up to and including minor to wear a mouthguard in all Gaelic football practice sessions and games. From 1st January 2014, this rule will apply to Gaelic footballers in ALL age grades. The KEY POINTS to remember are that Gaelic footballers in all age grades must wear a mouthguard from January 1st 2014. A properly fitted mouthguard is the best available protective device for reducing the incidence and severity of sports-related dental injuries. Players can be sent-off in a game for not wearing a mouthguard and players will not be covered under the GAA player injury scheme if they don’t comply with the mouthguard rule. No Mouthguard? No Game!

Scór Competitions

The Scor na nOg semi-finals that will take place in Tullycorbet on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd November and the final is scheduled in Clontibret on Friday 29th November.

Gala Banquet

Coiste Chontae Mhuineacháin are organising a Gala Banquet in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan on Friday 15th November 2013 to celebrate our teams wonderful success. Team Panels will be presented with their Championship and League medals on the night. Sunday 21st July last was one of the greatest and most memorable days in Monaghan GAA history.  Monaghan Senior Footballers and the Minor Footballers success was a magnificent achievement along with the appearance of the Monaghan 1988 winning team. It was a fantastic day to see three Monaghan teams holding centre stage in Saint Tiarnachs Park Clones, something that made every Monaghan Gael very proud. They are requesting that each club in Monaghan take a table for this event. Tables will comprise of ten or twelve people and the cost is €75 per person. It is a night for club officers and members to attend to honour the teams that have given us great summer memories. This will be a night of celebration not to be missed so please get in touch if you want tickets.
