Intermediate Championship Draw
We have been drawn against Currin in the preliminary round of the Intermediate Championship with the winners meeting either Doohamlet or Aghabog in the next round.
Training
The lads had their first training session last week and I was very impressed with the turnout of players. It was good to see a blend of youthful energy along with some off our more experienced players in attendance. David our trainer took us through our paces with a gentle session just to break us in! With the first round of the Intermediate league provisionally fixed for the last weekend in March and with the Reserve football competitions starting at the beginning of March it will be important to keep the numbers high at training. Keep up the good work lads.
Foundation Level Coaching Course
The club provides a very important service for the young people of our community that enables them to participate in team events while ensuring a safe and friendly environment. To continue providing this service we are looking for new people that will help out at juvenile coaching sessions. Our door is always open and I encourage all parents, any ex players or current players that are not involved in coaching juveniles to seriously consider doing so. The club is organising a foundation level coaching course which will also include a Code of Ethics (Child Protection). I would encourage all parents, players etc to take advantage of this course. Please contact Martina McKeown our Youth Officer for further information.
Coaching Courses / Workshops
Anybody interested in attending any of the following coaching courses/workshops please contact our Youth Officer Martina McKeown. Powerbag Conditioning with the Ball in Cloghan on Monday 8th February at 7.30-9.3opm. Defensive Play U14-Senior in Cloghan on Monday 8th March at 7.30-9.30pm.

Next weeks jackpot will be €1,600.00 and the draw will take place in the Maple Bar. Thank you supporting our Top 4 lotto draw.
Annual Top 4 Tickets
The club is dependent on the revenue generated from the sales of the Top 4 lotto draw. Unfortunately, we are experiencing a decrease in ticket sales when compared to previous years. Therefore, we must ALL take positive steps to ensure that the performance of the Top 4 lotto draw remains as high as possible. I would appeal to club members, players and supporters to sell at least one of our new Annual Top 4 tickets to somebody outside the club. As they say “many hands make light work”, please get involved.
Club Membership
Stephen Lynch is collecting club membership. The fee is €25 for adults and €5 for under 18’s. All players should pay their membership before the start of the playing season otherwise you will not be covered under the GAA insurance scheme.
Sympathy
On behalf of the club I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Monaghan family on the recent death of Michael Monaghan. May he rest in peace.
