Club Notes 22nd June

Streamline Coaches Intermediate Football League

Well, we’ve seen a lot of good things from our senior team this year but last Saturday evening against Donaghmoyne we produced a very lacklustre performance as Donaghmoyne showed a lot more hunger and appetite right from the throw-in, and gave us a healthy dose of reality when they dished out a comprehensive hammering. Maybe it was the nice weather that had the players thinking about other things or maybe the players weren’t focused enough or maybe this or maybe that, but whatever it was, it was clear from an early stage that the hunger and desire that was so evident in our performance against Currin the previous weekend was sadly missing. To be fair, Donaghmoyne were superb in every facet of the game where everything went right for them and where nothing went right for us and as a result we suffered one of our heaviest defeats in recent memory on a score-line Donaghmoyne 2-16 Rockcorry 0-9. Please check out www.rockcorrygaa.ie for a full match report and action shots of the Donaghmoyne v Rockcorry game.

Monaghan v Fermanagh

If you are heading to the match in Breffni Park this Sunday to shout on the boys in white & blue then make sure you show your colours. Gerry & Andrea Coyle have a vast selection of Monaghan merchandise including hats, scarf’s or headbands so make sure you’re kitted our properly and let me hear you sing “we are blue, we are white, we are dynamite”, Oh that brings back memories! Come on Monaghan. For your information it is not an all ticket game and you can pay at the turnstiles. Prices are the same as per the quarter final.

Monaghan Electrical Reserve League Division 4

Unfortunately, it’s either a feast or a famine as the next game for our reserve team is scheduled for 30th July. Yes, I know, it’s a pain but that’s the way it is. Anyway, it’s very important that all reserve players continue to attend training to keep in shape!
