Streamline Coaches Intermediate Football League
We continued our impressive form in the Streamline Coaches intermediate football league when we proved too strong and sharper against a struggling Aghabog side and won on a score-line Rockcorry 0-17 Aghabog 1-3. We were far more dominant in pivotal positions and used the ball more economically but strange as it may seem, there is still room for improvement as there will be bigger days ahead! This win has certainly helped us stay in the race for a top four position but with five games still remaining there’s no room for complacency as we must remain focused and continue to work hard for each other in order to achieve our objective. Team & scorers: Jamie Smith, Colin Reilly, Niall McKeown, Eoin Fitzpatrick, Keith Daly, Johnny Reilly, Stephen McGuirk, Barry Patterson 0-2, Mark Daly 0-7, Liam Connolly, Martin Carroll, Noel Carroll 0-2, Mark McGuirk 0-2, Paul McKeown 0-2, Dwayne Rooney 0-2. Subs: Keelan Clerkin for Colin Reilly, Colin Quinn for Barry Patterson, Conor McGeough for Mark McGuirk. Please log onto www.rockcorrygaa.ie for a full match report and some action photos. At the time of going to press our next outing in the league competition is scheduled for Sunday 15th August when we travel to play Tyholland at 12.30pm but please check official fixture list for confirmation.
McGuigan Builders Intermediate Championship
Tomorrow evening Friday 13th August we play Doohamlet in the first round of intermediate championship competition. The game is fixed for St. Mary’s Park, Castleblayney and has an 8.15pm throw-in. If recent league form was any criteria then we will be in for a cracking game of football as both teams served up an exciting contest when they met a couple of weeks ago in the league campaign and they shared the spoils. I hope to see a large following of supporters to go and shout on the lads and hopefully we can look forward to a sporting game of football and the right result. Best of luck lads.
All players are reminded that it is compulsory to wear the proper club colours during any game but particularly during championship matches. Can all players please make sure they have green and white socks and white togs with green strips or with the club crest. Remember lads you are representing you team and your club when you walk on to the pitch.

Our minor team will play Emyvale in the league final which takes place on Tuesday 17th August in Aghabog at 7.00pm. The lads gave some great performances during the league campaign and let’s hope they can do it one more time and on behalf of the club I extend our best wishes to the management team Pascal Smyth, Mark McCormick and Jimmy McGeough and all the lads in their endeavours to bring home the silverware. Best of luck lads.
