Busy week of club action

Another busy week of action was concluded by the club.

The U15’s were first to pull on the Green jersey but their efforts were in vain as a miscommunication among the opposition seen their been no one to play against in Toome, so all was packed up in the kit bag and back down the road.

The U9’s were next into action on Saturday morning, and while the poor weather seen the planned blitz been postponed, the young players were not to be out done as a challenge match between Tyholland and Emyvale did take place with Tyholland playing host and our thanks to them for doing so at short notice.

The seniors then took up the playing mantle as they travelled to Smithborough on Sunday to face Eire Og in the Junior league. Having picked up points on the opening day with a comfortable win over Truagh, the players and management knew that this outing would be a tougher test and proved to be that with the old cliché goals win games coming to the fore.

While neither side could be separated at the break going in 1-04 a piece, a 2nd goal from the home side seen them claim the points with a 2-9 to 1-07 victory.

The U13′s claimed their 2nd win of the league with a hard earned 2 point victory over Tyholland. For the spectators at Pairc Mhuire on Tuesday night past, they were treated to a cracking game of football played in a great sporting manner with some wonderful scores and skills of the game been demonstrated.

Indeed Tuesday was a good night for the club as the minors who are amalgamated with Eire Og, also register a win over Doohamlet to give the a 100% start to their league campaign.
