5-a-side Soccer Tournament

Last Saturday (5th February) we held our 5-a-side soccer tournament at the Cootehill Astro Pitch and fifteen teams took part on the day including teams from Aghabog, Clones, Latton, Killeevan and a number of European clubs! The damp conditions did not dampen the enthusiasm shown by all players and supporters and the competition was eventually won out by Keith Daly’s team who defeated Noel Carroll’s team in an electrifying final by 2-0. Thanks a million to everyone for all the support especially to Cootehill Astro for the use of their great facilities, to John Sherlock, Anthony Tate and Mark Daly for doing the refereeing (who would want to be a referee!!!) and we are very grateful for the tremendous sponsorship we received from John Foy (Supervalu), Mickey Prior and John McPhillips. Well done lads.
